Dominomancy
A method of divination involving the use of dominoes, or domino tiles.
Dominoes developed from dice in China over 2200 years ago, but they arrived in Europe only in the 17th century. Chinese domino sets have 21 tiles and each domino tile depicts two throws of the dice. Blanks were added to European sets to make the total number of tiles 28. The highest domino tile is double six, and the lowest is double blank. Domino tiles are alternatively known as bones, cards, tickets, stones, or spinners.
Traditional significances are, as in most divination methods, related to the combination and sum of numbers. To discover futurity, first is necessary to spread all the dominoes face down and shuffle them thoroughly.
In the most common method of Dominomancy, three tiles are drawn out. On an alternative method one tile is drawn out and put aside; remaining tiles are shuffled once more and another tile is drawn; again one third time for the final tile. On yet another method, the chosen tile is put back into the shuffle for each additional drawing, with the added possibility of drawing the same tile twice or even three times. If this happens then the reading will come to an end very fast.
This method of divination is still often practiced today in Korea and India.
