| | | Japayi-kishi
Allegedly, another mysterious primate or wildman, this time from Central Asia, specifically from the Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and southern Xinjiang Uygur (China) regions.
Alternatively known as Adam-Dzhapais, Adam-japayis, Adam-yapayisy, Adam-yavei, and Zhabayi-adam — which are all local names for what is generally known as Almas — the Japayi-kishi are described as wild men-like hairy creatures that, according to the locals, are skilled runners and swimmers, besides being able to improvise weapons out of sticks and stones.
These wildmen are said to have no speech, but are able to make muttering noises and to have a very sharp sense of hearing. They are also rumored to wash their newborn infants in clean cold-water springs and of bartering food for trinkets, which denotes a higher understanding then that of an animal.

Occultopedia is the genuine article, the
original and the best internet index of the extraordinary and uncanny,
shamelessly copied by many, but never equaled. Online since 1995 — at first in a free web space provider
(Tripod.com), and in 1997 finally
with its own domain name and hosting — Occultopedia still is the
principal online resource for those looking for the unexplained, the
curious and the unusual. |

not in reality a commercial one. All of the commercial links are from affiliate

bandwidth — that can be quite costly if you have a lot of traffic, graphics and
pages — and any other expenses related to Occultopedia's upkeep, support, and maintenance.
